For convenience, all files that have been linked to an Incident Log can be managed from that Incident’s record using its Linked Files tab.
This article provides guidance on managing your existing Linked Files, and covers:
- Viewing an Incident Log’s Linked Files
- Downloading or Previewing an Incident Log’s Linked Files
- Unlinking an Incident Log’s Linked Files

You will be presented with a menu of actions relating to the file (note that the available options will be dependent on your File Manager permissions). Click on the Preview option to open the file within the appropriate Microsoft Office application.

Unlink a File from an Incident Log
If a file is incorrectly linked to an Incident Log, or is no longer relevant to an Incident Log, then you have the option to break the link to remove the file from the Incident Log’s record without removing it from your system. To do so, open the relevant Incident Log and click on its Linked Files tab. You will be presented with a list of files that are currently linked to the Incident Log. Locate the appropriate file within the register, and click on the break link icon displayed on the row’s right-hand side.
You will be prompted to confirm whether the link between the file and the Incident Log should be broken. Click on OK, and the link will be removed, clearing the file from the Incident Log’s list. Note that this does not delete the file itself, and that the file will continue to be available within the relevant area of your File Manager module.
