In rare cases, you may find that the ISO Certification Manager fails to appear within your menu, or one of your users’ menus, despite the module being included within your package. This effectively means that you do not have access to the module, as you are unable to access it from the Home Page or other parts of your system.
There are three known causes for this issue, which are as follows:
- Tasks has not been enabled within your system
- the affected user does not have Permissions to Tasks
- the ISO Certification Manager does not contain any checklists

Tasks has not been enabled within your system
The ISO Certification Manager was built using some of the functionality from the Tasks module, and relies upon components of this module to function correctly. These components are only available within a system when Tasks is enabled: when the module is disabled (i.e. not a part of your package), all components of Tasks are disabled along with it – including the components that the ISO Certification Manager requires. This results in the ISO Certification Manager being hidden from all user menus within your system.
Because of the module’s reliance on Tasks, the Tasks module is always included as part of any system that includes the ISO Certification Manager. As such, if you have this module and Tasks is disabled, then it will be the result of an oversight or misconfiguration made when the module was added to your system (or when your system was built, if it was included as part of your original package). To correct this issue, you will need to contact your reseller, account manager, or the MyActiv Technical Support Team to arrange for the Tasks module to be added to your system. Once Tasks has been enabled, the ISO Certification Manager should automatically appear within your Activ menu.

The affected user does not have Permissions to Tasks
Uniquely within Activ, the ISO Certification Manager does not have dedicated permission areas, but instead relies on the permissions that are set against the Tasks module. This is the result of the ISO Certification Manager using some components of the Tasks module to support its functionality (see above). Because of this interconnectivity, a user’s permissions to the Tasks module will dictate their access to and abilities within the ISO Certification Manager, and any user who has ‘none’ permissions to Tasks will also have ‘none’ permissions to the Manager.
As within all other areas of Activ, ‘none’ permissions means that the user cannot view or access any content within either the Tasks or ISO Certification Manager, and results in both modules being hidden from their Activ menus. To correct this, you will need to modify the affected user’s permissions to provide them with at least ‘Read Only’ permissions to Tasks. Once you have made this adjustment, the ISO Certification Manager will automatically appear within the user’s menu.
See System Permissions for guidance on Activ’s permission levels, and Edit a User’s System Permissions for guidance on amending your users’ permissions.

The ISO Certification Manager does not contain any checklists
In very rare cases, you may find that no Checklists (‘Audits’) were added to your ISO Certification Manager at the time that the module was added to your system, and that it contains no content as a result. When this occurs, Activ will often automatically hide the module from your menu, as it is essentially non-functional. This is always the result of an oversight or misconfiguration made when the module was added to your system (or when your system was built, if it was included as part of your original package).
To correct this issue, you will need to contact your reseller, account manager, or the MyActiv Technical Support Team to arrange for them to add the appropriate Checklist(s) to your system. Once they have done so, the ISO Certification Manager should automatically appear within your Activ menu.
