Control Access to the Human Resources Module – System Permissions

The term ‘system permissions’ is used to describe an individual user’s access level to each part of your Activ system. There are four levels available within most areas, with each level determining the actions (e.g. addition or deletion of items) that your users have the authority to perform. Each user’s system permissions are set independently to allow you to tailor what they can view or do in any part of Activ, allowing you to ensure that your employees can only access the appropriate materials and areas of your system. See System Permissions and Edit a User’s Permissions for more information.

System Permissions for the Human Resources module are split into eight parts, enabling you to tightly control access to sensitive personnel information and tailor users’ access according to their role or seniority. The permissions for these areas follow the standard conventions of the wider Activ system – specifically:

In addition, some areas in Human Resources include the facility to export data to a .csv file. The ability to do so is controlled by the Can Export? permission level, which can be combined with ‘Read’, ‘Edit,’ or ‘Admin’ as appropriate.

Only users with ‘Admin’ permission for System Administration – Administrator are able to change a user’s permission levels. Those who have this permissions level will be able to edit the permissions for any other user within your system, including themselves.
