The Communications area within Activ’s Customers & Suppliers module allows you to maintain a record of past or planned inbound and outbound Communications with your third-party companies, and with your contacts within those companies. Over time, the Communications area enables you to create a detailed Communication Log that can be readily reviewed by your employees and assist you in remaining compliant to your ISO standard.
All Communications must be associated with a company and contact that is already recorded within your Activ system (see Add a Company and Add a Contact). You will not be able to record Communications if you have not already added companies or contacts to the relevant areas of the module.
Communications can be managed from three areas of Activ:
- From the Customers & Suppliers: Companies This provides a record of the Communications that are associated with the selected company.
- From an individual contact within the Customers & Suppliers: Contacts This provides a record of the Communications that are associated with the selected contact.
- From the Customers & Suppliers: Communications This area allows you to manage all Communications with all companies and contacts. Results within this area are filtered by the Communication’s owner.
In addition, Activ allows you to configure your regular Notifications to remind you of upcoming and overdue Communications, and of Communications that other users assign to you. See Communications Alerts and Reminders for more information.

The Customers & Suppliers: Communications area has three tabs which are used to manage your Communication Logs:
Scheduled Communications – this page records all planned Communications, allowing you to create and manage a schedule of Communications for yourself and other users. By default, it shows all planned Communications that are owned by you, but Communications belonging to other users can be shown using the filters at the top of the screen.
Historic Communications – this page records all Communications that have previously taken place, enabling you to review the details of past interactions with your third-party companies. By default, it shows all historic Communications that are owned by you, but Communications belonging to other users can be shown using the filters at the top of the screen.
Reports – this page provides key statistics relating to the Communications area, enabling you to analyse Communications and response rates.
